PERFORMING BURANO NEEDLE LACE
Video Art - Emma is a lacemaker, the oldest surviving in Burano, Venice. She is 102 years old and she played for me the gesture of her work. My aim is to archive and immortalize the gesture for the next generation as there will be no more people able to do the original Burano needle lace. The gesture and converted by a theremin. This work had been possible by the collaboration with Arte-Mide an activist venetian association to promote and prevent the venetian tradition.
